The 2nd Wave Energy Aerodynamic Integration Technology Seminar at Zhejiang University, China

Anna Feichtner, PhD candidate from the University Exeter, presented her work titled "Initial experimental and numerical studies of the wave interaction with porous shields for OWC chambers" at the 2nd Wave Energy Aerodynamic Integration Technology Seminar, which took place on the 19th May 2019 at Zhejiang University, China.

Anna, supervised by Prof. Lars Johanning received the Newton-funded  PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grant China-UK, which placed her for six months (April - September 2019) at the Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China. She works on a model to assess extreme load and response characteristics on a floating offshore wind (FOW) structure enabled with a porous shield, allowing to inform the development of a resilient and robust approach for offshore renewable energy (ORE) systems in the South China Sea.
