Dr Hongda Liu

Dr Hong-da Liu is an associate professor of College of Automation. He has been occupied in researching ocean power generation, ocean energy application and island micro-grid substantially. At first, he primarily focused on the power conversion system and optimal control of oceanic generation devices and now he mainly concentrates on the prediction of diverse ocean energy near the offshore and pelagic clustering islands, dynamic integration and energy management. He published more than 50 research papers (20 in the last three years) in journals and conferences, in addition, he obtained four patents for inventions and two software copies.

He is a member of IEEE Power Systems, Industrial Electronics and Oceanic Engineering, a senior member of the CES, a member of the Ocean RE Branch of CAOE, a reviewer of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has hosted and participated in a number of national research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the Hi-Tech R & D Program and the Ministry of Science and Technology's special program.
